Your vacuum cleaner most probably comes with head that has brushes. Vacuuming with these brushes out in the open may cause damage to your rug surface. Hide the brushes by pushing the lever available on your vacuum head or if the brushes are permanently installed and there's no lever, slowly vacuum your rugs in a very gentle way.
